2021 Big East Transfer Portal, Vol. 13

Markese Jacobs has announced that he will be transferring from DePaul. Jacobs is the eighth player to leave the Blue Demons program this offseason, joining Darious Hall (Central Arkansas), Keon Edwards (Nebraska), Kobe Elvis (Dayton), Ray Salnave (UMBC), Oscar Lopez Jr (JuCo), Pauly Paulicap (West Virginia), and Charlie Moore (Miami.) Jacobs brings the total number of players to transfer out of the Big East this offseason to forty-six.

5’11 Markese Jacobs sat out the 2020/2021 season due to rehabbing a torn ACL he suffered in DePaul’s last regular season game of the 2019/2020 season. Jacobs showed promise as an ideal backup lead guard to 5’11 junior Charlie Moore during his lone season in Chicago.

Although Jacobs’ momentum had been halted due to rehabbing for a season, it was reasonable to assume he’d have an opportunity for playing time heading into the 2021/2022 season. DePaul’s guard rotation now features 6’4 senior Javon Freeman-Liberty, 6’3 freshman Ahamad Bynum, 6’4 freshman Brett Hardt Jr, and 6’0 sophomore Jalen Terry (Oregon transfer.)
